Mara was born and raised in Puerto Rico before moving to Iowa for school. She graduated in 2025 from Iowa State University with a bachelor's in Animal Ecology. During her time in school Mara gained an interest in invertebrates and wildlife medicine. In the future she hopes to attend veterinary school and focus on wildlife and conservation veterinary.
